Curriculum

  1. Session 1: The world of toppers, hair types and bases
    • Types of toppers and hair extensions, and the base constructions used in the field.
    • Natural, raw and processed hair, and top lace, mono lace and skin (PU) bases.
    • Practice: identifying base types, hair types and quality grades.
  2. Session 2: Ventilating fundamentals
    • Ventilating tools, needles and preparing the hair for work.
    • Ventilating with single and double knots on top lace and mono lace.
    • Practice: ventilating, creating a parting and filling a thin area.
  3. Session 3: Measuring, fitting and attachment
    • Measuring and fitting a topper to the head shape and coverage area.
    • Attachment and fixing methods: clips, invisible thread, beads and sewing.
    • Practice: measuring and fitting a unit to a client.
  4. Session 4: Natural finish and maintenance
    • Thinning, blending at the hairline and a gradual transition to the natural hair.
    • Routine maintenance, cleaning and caring for the unit over time.
    • Practice: thinning a unit and creating a natural finish.
  5. Session 5: Basic repairs and working with clients
    • Assessing an existing unit and basic repairs.
    • A sensitive consultation, understanding needs and presenting a solution.
    • Practice: simulating a consultation and fitting.
